Bar Council Malaysia  - Manager for the Malaysian Bar Self-Indemnity Fund Scheme 

The Bar Council invites interested parties to participate in a tender to select a Manager for the Malaysian Bar Self-Indemnity Fund ("SIF") Scheme. The SIF Scheme is expected to commence as early as 2022. 

Interested parties may obtain a brief explanation on what a Manager of the SIF Scheme is expected to do by writing to the Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of the Bar Council and submitting their correspondence by email to or by fax at 03-2050 2019. Bar Council will hold a briefing with interested parties on 27 Nov 2020 (Friday). 

To participate in this tender, all tenderers are required to pay a non-returnable tender bond of RM10,600 (inclusive of 6% SST) before 5:00 pm on 11 Dec 2020 (Friday). Payment should be by way of online transfer. Tenderers may get the transfer details by writing to us at the above-mentioned email address or fax number. Upon payment, a tender document detailing the full requirement of the tender exercise will be provided.
Completed tender proposals shall be submitted in a sealed box by 12:00 pm on or before 5 Feb 2021 (Friday) to:

All tenderers are required to present their proposals and answer any questions Bar Council may have. Tender presentations are tentatively scheduled for February or March 2021. 

Each tender proposal will be judged on the conceptual suitability and a demonstration of the ability of tenderers to provide the services required in the best interest of the Malaysian Bar.
All tenderers will be informed of Bar Council's decision in writing. Bar Council does not bind itself to accept any tender or assign any reason for the rejection of any tender, neither will it be responsible for any costs incurred by the tenderers. 

Any information provided to Bar Council will not be used or intentionally disclosed to other parties except in the normal course of negotiating, maintaining or renewing the insurance, or for handling any claims thereunder, unless (a) we are required to disclose the information by a court of competent jurisdiction or governmental or regulatory body having the requisite authority over us; and (b) the information is already in the public domain or has been received by us from a third party not under any duty of confidentiality.
